The mission of MERDCI’s Electronic Design Automation (EDA) Group is to develop, maintain and support CAD tools that are used in IC design as well as developing a design flow and design methodology, consistent with MERDCI’s CAD tool inventory in support of design activities.

Members of the EDA Group development team have substantial industry experience with both front-end and back-end IC design tools that are offered by industry leaders in this area, including Cadence, Mentor Graphics and Synopsys. As such, they have a key role to play in supporting IC design activities at MERDCI and ensuring that design flows, guidelines and methodology are adhered to by designers. The Group also has the capability of developing point tools in response to specific needs of IC designers to address a specific task or interface requirement.

The EDA Group is also actively engaged in offering educational activities in line with MERDCI’s mission in development and promotion of IC design expertise in Iran.
